Are You Getting True Allergy Support?

Thanks Jen!
Food allergy support; this is a vast, never-ending place where people from all over the world meet. This is a family that you never knew existed and that you didn't think would ever be a part of your daily life. And just like any other family, there may be some family members that you don't get along with; some that thrive on the latest food allergy gossip and those who are just downright angry about everything that actually solves very little. How do you learn to navigate through the allergy support network without getting caught up in places that may not be the best for your needs? There are no rules except one- stay with those that support you, no matter what. Stay with the people that you know you can talk to and trust without feeling as if you will be spoken down too. Stay away from the people who prey on all of the negativity because the only thing that anybody really needs is to stay positive. Luckily, there is a place where you can go every year to experience what true allergy support is all about- the Food Allergy Bloggers Conference.

Aterica Health, Kaleo, EpiShell, DineSafeApp
Each year, my recaps about the Food Allergy Bloggers Conference get a bit more tricky to write. Not because I don't know what to write or what to include but because there is just so much that I want to share with everyone. I'm always afraid I won't share enough and the event will be downplayed (see my previous articles here). Within the whirlwind of hugs, kisses, photos, safe food, products and classes there is something for everyone. In fact, I challenge even one person to tell me that they went to the conference and claim it wasn't everything I promised it to be. This is a place where everyone can meet someone from every aspect of the food allergy support that they need. A place where meeting with the founders of Auvi-Q or shaking hands with your favorite blogger is the norm. The Food Allergy Bloggers Conference is a safe haven for anyone that is yearning for answers that they haven't found yet.

Beginnings This year, I wanted to share how the Food Allergy Bloggers Conference began. "The idea for a FAB Conference is something that Jenny Sprague had been pondering for about two years before it became a reality. It stems from the longing to connect, share, learn and meet all these amazing people she had come to know virtually through Twitter, Facebook, reading their blogs or books. They had helped guide her on the food allergy journey and, in turn, she has tried to help others. As Jenny verbalized this idea and shared it among her inner circle of friends, they too saw the value and were equally excited at the idea of having a conference for all of us. This conference is a great opportunity for us to come together to share, learn and connect with each other!"

Food & Stuff As I mentioned before, there's so very much to do, see and eat when you go to this conference! This year, in my quest in (trying) to show everyone all of the details, I have posted all of my photos in an album (just go here)- I wanted to make sure I didn't leave anyone out. And just to tease everyone and make your mouth water, I am sharing a small glimpse of what goes on at dinner as part of the Conference.

Time For Me to Give Back If all of this is not an awesome reason to begin something to give back, I don't know what else is....UNLESS I host a giveaway! I have teamed up with the wonderful people at Barney Butter to give some of the food allergy love. Since Barney Butter was my official sponsor for this year's Food Allergy Bloggers Conference I felt that sharing should be virtual as well as literal. For those with peanut allergies who can safely enjoy almonds, Barney Butter is a must-try. Their almond- only facility allows consumers with peanut allergies to enjoy multiple varieties of Barney Butter without the worry of cross-contamination*.  A little known fact- Barney Butter got it's name from the person that originally started the company. When it was sold to the current owners in 2010, they felt the name was catchy and they wanted to continue the loyal following. Thus, Barney Butter was born (yes, not the other Barney!).
